Success case
Mass conversion of data from the Zeus GNF application
The challenge
Gas Natural Fenosa (GNF), a multinational company that operates in 25 companies and has around 20 million customers, implemented a commercial management system for the gas and electricity distribution businesses of all the distribution companies in the group. To do this, it commissioned BaseTIS to unify different obsolete and segregated systems into a single updated and robust system through different implementations.
The project handled the critical task of migrating the large volume of data from different systems into a new system, while guaranteeing the quality and coherence of the information according to GNF’s demanding standards.
The solution
Basetis’s strategy was based on an ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) process through which the quality was audited using quantitative and qualitative indicators.
A high-performance team developed ad hoc processes and programs to make the best use of resources and guarantee data quality. Various iterative and incremental implementations were carried out with an agile focus that helped get people in the team closely involved and ensured client satisfaction.
The project’s quality and rigorousness was recognised by those involved and the end user, whose trust we clearly earned.
19 successful Big Bang implementations since 2012 in Spain, Mexico, Colombia and Brazil in the gas and electricity sectors. An integrated solution and an effective methodology for data migration projects were offered.
1.000 milion
records migrated in the final implementation.
2.000 debuggins
and validations to guarantee data quality.
60 quantitative and qualitative
targets met.
